Love

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing well on this slightly chilly day.

I apologise for my absence, but I have been scrapping up a storm over the last 7 weeks. Sadly that meant that I did not get much time for blogging. Now that my life can return back to somewhat normal and all my entries for the Scrapbooking Memories Magazine's Masters Competition 2014 are done, I'll attempt to catch up on my July and August tags and get back to blogging. So with this years Masters still fresh in mind, I thought I'd share one of my entries from 2013. This one, Love, received a honourable mention in the January magazine of this year and I don't know if I was more thrilled or surprised. (Sending it, I was not convinced that it would really make the cut, if you know what I mean...) Love features a photo of my wedding 10 years ago and although I have not done a scrapbooking album for the wedding as yet, I love to use the photos on occasion using new techniques and paper every time. I think I'll get board too quickly if I had to use the same paper range for a entire album :)

At first I had no idea where to begin, but then sourced some inspiration from the winning entries of previous Scrapbooking Memory Masters, Heather McMahon and Kaye Grieve. The background for the layout was created using Liquitex Heavy Medium Gel, through a stencil on white, shimmery cardstock.

The next photo is a detailed image of the Liquitex gel, once dried.

I hoped to mimic the patterns of the crystals that were on my dress and used use glass bubbles to create a bit of sparkle.
